Grade Certificate Policy and Rules
The WAO awards Grade Certificates to all candidates who participate in the examination. Depending on their performance in the examination, participants can earn one of four prestigious grade certificates—Summa cum laude, Magna cum laude, Cum laude, or Excellence. Due to the vary level of event difficulty, to ensure fair and accurate achievement recognition, WAO has established this grade certificate policy.

Key Principles of the Policy:
-
The score thresholds for each grade level are adjusted according to the difficulty level of each event, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation across diverse competitions.
-
The difficulty level of each event is determined by both the designed difficulty (the complexity and depth of knowledge required) and the actual difficulty (the challenge posed by the examination questions).

Top Awards Policy
To honor the pinnacle of academic excellence, the WAO grants top awards to the best-performing students in each event. These top awards are categorized into World Level, Continental Level, and National Level, ensuring that exceptional performances are recognized at every level of competition. To maintain a fair and representative distribution of awards, WAO has established this top awards policy.

Key Principles of the Policy:
-
Participation-Based Criteria: The issuance of awards depends on the participation composition of each event. Specific criteria must be met for an event to qualify for World or Continental Level awards, ensuring that these awards accurately reflect the diversity and scope of the competition.
-
Award Allocation: The number of awards issued at each level is based on the number of eligible participants. For instance, if there are fewer than 10 participants, only a single award for 1st place will be given. However, if there are 30 or more participants, awards will be distributed to the top 10 performers.
